Monkey portraits, ourselves in the mirror
These portraits have given a face to my study subjects throughout my years spent studying monkey behaviour as an ethologist at the Fondazione Ethoikos. The photos are intended to depict monkeys in their uniqueness. They offer glimpses of their lives and clearly show that each individual has its own personality and its own temperament. Better than any form of speech, their gaze communicates how similar they are to us and how we are part of one big family.
